We had moved from Mumbai to Goa in 2008 as we wanted to be in Sri NitinDada's company. However, my Parents stayed back in Mumbai with my elder sister for a year and a half before moving in with me.
In November 2013, they went back to Mumbai to stay with my sister for some time. In July 2014, my father was diagnosed with CA prostate stage-4. My father was 84 years old at the time. My sister stays in Powai so she took him to Hiranandani Hospital.
I got a call from her giving me the news of my father's illness and she further conveyed that the doctors had advised not to remove the prostate but to do an orchidectomy as cancer had spread. She also told me that she had not informed my father about his illness.
I have a younger sister as well, who stays in Kudal which is around 120 Kms away from my home in Goa. I informed her about our father's illness and told her that I was booking a flight for Alpana (my wife), my sister, and me so that we could go and meet my father at the earliest .
I informed Sri Nitin Dada over phone about my father's illness. He advised me to not keep my father in dark about his illness and to do the required operation with his consent, at the earliest as advised by the Doctor.
The day we were to travel to Mumbai happened to be Guru Purnima (12th July, 2014) . Our flight was early in the morning so my wife and I decided to visit Sri Gondavlekar Maharaj's math in Malad before going to see my father.
We had been to the Math a couple of times in the past but we knew no one there. We reached when the Aarti was taking place, and it was so crowded that people were standing on the stairs outside the Math. I felt that there was not any way we could go up until the entire program was done. So I thought, it would not be possible to have Sri Maharaj's Darshan that day. Then, someone noticed the suitcases in our hands and asked us to go up through the other entrance on the rear side. We went upstairs as directed and realised that we had entered Sri. Ketkar's residence. They welcomed us and asked us to sit. On further enquiry they realised that we had travelled from Goa. They were extremely hospitable to us despite us being complete strangers and they even offered us breakfast.
While talking to them, we told them briefly about our Satguru Sri NitinDada through whom we had started following Sri Gondavlekar Maharaj. One of the members of the family, told us that he had met Sri NitinDada. Further when he asked us about our reason for visiting Mumbai, I told him about my father, he told me that his father also had been seriously ill and had passed away in Nanavati hospital. When he took his father to the hospital, the attending doctor had said to him "साक्षीत्व से रहो".
ते गृहस्थ म्हणाले की महाराज कोणाच्या मुखाने शिकवतील ते सांगता येत नाही.
I realised that this was a message for me from my Satguru Sri NitinDada.
I felt His protection around me. He fulfilled our wish for Sri Maharaj's Darshan, and that we receive Prasad.
He guided me saying that साक्षीत्व भाव से रहो which means, "believe that He is the doer and whatever happens is His wish". I need to be just a witness to what happens in life and do my duties diligently.
After talking to Nitindada about my father's illness, my mind was at peace, and the fear and anxiety had vanished. With His Grace, I was ready to handle the situation.
